What is Operation Christmas Child?
Operation Christmas Child is a charitable project organized by Samaritan's Purse, aiming to bring joy and the hope of Jesus Christ to children in need around the world during the Christmas season. The main purpose of packing shoeboxes is to fill them with small toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and other gifts that are age-appropriate for children in impoverished or crisis-stricken areas.

These shoebox gifts are then distributed to children in various countries who may be living in poverty, affected by war, natural disasters, or other difficult circumstances. The act of packing these shoeboxes allows individuals or groups to directly impact the lives of children by providing them with items they may not typically have access to, while also spreading love, joy, and a sense of care during the holiday season.

The effort of packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child not only brings immediate happiness to these children but also delivers a message of hope and compassion, showing them that they are remembered and cared for by people from around the world. It's a way to share the kindness of our Lord and to spread the message of His Gospel, which OCC includes in each shoebox.
