What to Expect
From your first visit to your 100th time with us, here's what you can expect from us every single week:
Worship Times
Our main worship services are 10:30 am and 6:00 pm, and they typically last around 75-90 minutes. We have many other activities for the Lord's Day, so feel free to ask about those!
What’s Sunday Like?
Scripture: We aren't original. We reveal in God's Holy Word rather than on our human ideas and speculations. So if you join us, we'll open the Bible, pick a book, and with all our might aim to unfold the meaning of the Scriptures to you. This is why we have Bible reading at the beginning of the service as well as a sermon as the central part of our worship.
Music: We sing songs worth singing together, as a congregation. We often sing old hymns, and we sometimes sing a few that are newer, all of which are rich in doctrine and grace. We aim to sing enduring music that exalts Christ, not stage performers - songs that the gathered church will still be singing in 200 years, if the Lord tarries.
Children: We invite families to sit and worship together. We don't want to forbid the children to come to our Lord, so we mind if they are a little noisy! If you need it, we have a wonderful children's church ministry for three weeks of the month, but every fourth Sunday is family Sunday, so all our children know they are part of the church. We also have a nursery with audio of the worship service, if you need to feed or let your little one play.
What About Dress?
The Pastor-Teacher will typically wear a dark suit to as a nod to the Reformed heritage of wearing robes to hide the man; the Word of God is our ultimate focus here.
We have no dress code for church members or visitors, except to ask that they dress generally tastefully and modesty for service. That might just mean a clean pair of overalls. We seek to avoid extrabiblical, legalistic standards, so we don't require ties for men or long dresses for women (though you are welcome to wear those if you so wish!).
